Enhim ready for large-scale production of tributyl phosphate
Enhim
Enhim, part of the NEC Group, has started production of a new strategically important product, tributyl phosphate (TBP), which is in demand across high-tech industries. The first batch has already been produced at the company’s facility.

Tributyl phosphate is a key component of non-flammable aviation hydraulic fluids. It is also used in the chemical, fuel, and metallurgical industries as an extractant for the recovery and separation of rare-earth elements from ores and as a plasticizer for industrial polymer materials.

The product is also highly effective as an antifoaming agent in paints, emulsions, and adhesives, as well as in oil drilling, the paper industry, detergents, and ethylene glycol-based antifreeze. It is used as a solvent for nitrocellulose and printing inks, a metal extractant, a lubricant film stabilizer, a plasticizer for cellulose esters, and a wetting agent in various solutions.

We are moving tributyl phosphate to large-scale production because we see sustained market demand. High-tech industries need a reliable raw material base, and we are ready to provide it. Importantly, this is not a one-off initiative: in March this year, we started production of tricresyl phosphate and triethyl phosphate. These areas are included in Enhim’s long-term development program, enabling us to systematically expand our range of strategically important products.
