Enhim supplies fire‑resistant oil for Russia’s first low‑speed high‑power turbine
Enhim
Enhim (part of the NEC Group) has completed an urgent supply of fire‑resistant fluid for Power Unit No. 1 at Kursk NPP‑2. The customer, JSC Rosenergoatom Concern, decided to replace the imported fire‑resistant fluid in the control system of Russia’s first low‑speed high‑power turbine with a domestic fire‑resistant fluid.
The shipment volume amounted to approximately 15 tonnes. The high‑tech product was promptly delivered to the industrial site, passed incoming inspection and was filled into the turbine unit’s control system.
A key feature of the Enhim product is its fire resistance: the formulation maintains its performance parameters even at abnormally high temperatures and eliminates the risk of ignition in areas with direct contact with heated components. This ensures continuous and safe operation of both the main and auxiliary equipment at the plant.
It should be recalled that in 2024, Enhim’s products received official approval for use in oil‑filled equipment at thermal and nuclear power plants. This decision followed an audit conducted by a working group of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, with the participation of specialists from JSC Rosenergoatom Concern and JSC Power Machines. Experts confirmed that the company’s turbine oil meets strict industry standards for safety and quality – a fact verified during pilot industrial operation at Leningrad NPP‑2.
Kursk NPP is one of the largest nodes of Russia’s Unified Power System. The plant supplies electricity to over 90 % of industrial enterprises in the Kursk Region and to 19 regions of the Central Federal District. It accounts for more than half of the installed capacity of all power plants in the Chernozemye region, making its uninterrupted operation a matter of nationwide importance. Thus, Enkhim’s supply meets the plant’s need for specialised fire‑resistant fluids, ensuring the technical stability of one of the key power facilities in the Central Federal District.
