On December 19, the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, headed by Senator Andrei Chernyshev, held a working meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the FSB, network organizations and guaranteeing suppliers.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the implementation of Federal Law No. 522, which regulates the installation of intelligent electricity metering devices in residential buildings. This law applies to every citizen of the country.

During the meeting, Dmitry Zaretsky made a brief presentation on the implementation of the program for the supply of intelligent metering devices to the largest energy retail and electric grid companies in Russia and spoke about plans for further installation. In total, 1 million 850 thousand IPUs are planned to be produced by the end of 2024. Of these: 950 thousand for energy retail companies and developers, 900 thousand for grid companies. Additionally, the General Director of «NEC.TECH» noted that in 2024, 63,000 domestic IPUs were delivered to Georgia.

«All installed IPUs are domestic, manufactured at the Russian factory of «NARTIS Plant» LLC and included in the register of domestic products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation», - Dmitry Zaretsky emphasized.

A separate important topic for discussion was the need to formalize the requirements for developers in terms of equipping IPUs and further transferring them to Guaranteeing Suppliers for maintenance.

Summing up the meeting, Member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Andrey Vladimirovich Chernyshev noted that a tremendous amount of work had been done.

«Hundreds of thousands of smart meters have been installed recently, new high-tech enterprises have been launched to produce modern equipment, and the legislative framework has been improved», - commented Andrey Chernyshev.

Today, the senator will report on the results of the joint work to the Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko, who is the initiator of the bill.
