Moselectroshield advances equipment modernisation
Moselectroshield
Moselectroshield (a member of the NEC Group) has launched serial production of Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) — compact, high-reliability electrical switchgear widely used in transformer substations.

The production process is built around fully automated laser welding systems for stainless steel components. This advanced technology ensures exceptional precision and strength of weld joints — a critical requirement for equipment operating under high pressure.

The high-tech welding complexes operate 24/7 without interruption, significantly increasing production output. Automation, combined with real-time optical monitoring, minimises human error and ensures consistent, uniform weld quality across all units. This enables reduced manufacturing costs — without compromising on reliability or performance.

Each completed GIS unit undergoes hermeticity testing in a vacuum chamber using helium leak detection — a highly sensitive method that guarantees the highest sealing integrity. This is essential for GIS equipment, which operates under elevated pressure of sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆), a dielectric gas used to prevent electrical discharges.

The ongoing modernisation and automation of production is a key element of Moselectroshield’s comprehensive development programme. It aims to integrate cutting-edge technologies into domestic electrical engineering and expand manufacturing capacity to meet the growing demand for reliable, high-performance power equipment.
