Moselectroshield to Supply Equipment for Kursk NPP‑2

Moselectroshield
Moselectroshield (part of the NEC Group) will manufacture unique 24 kV generator-voltage busducts with a rated current of 37,500 A for Unit No. 2 of Kursk NPP‑2.

The busducts are designed to provide electrical connections in the “turbogenerator — unit transformer” circuits. The equipment includes a cooling system, which enables it to operate under critical loads. The products comply with Safety Class 3 under NP‑071‑18 and are included in the Register of Russian Industrial Products (Decree No. 719). Previously, the company successfully supplied busducts for the first unit of Kursk NPP.

«Moselectroshield is the only enterprise producing busducts with these specifications, having confirmed its status as a domestic manufacturer», — said Nikolay Shemyakin, the company’s General Director. «Our busducts are manufactured in Russia in full compliance with localisation requirements. They are notable for their reliability and durability», he explained. «Today, more than 400,000 linear metres of our busducts are in operation not only in our country but also abroad».

Kursk NPP‑2 will replace the decommissioned units of the existing Kursk NPP once their service life ends. The new plant in the Kursk Region will help reduce the risk of energy shortages in the region and ensure electricity supplies to the integrated power grid of the Central Area of the Unified Energy System of Russia.
