NARTIS begins commissioning functional units for Mosgortrans electric bus charging

NARTIS Mosgortrans State Unitary Enterprise
NARTIS, part of NEC Group’s Components and Smart Technologies division, has begun commissioning the first batch of functional units for ultra-fast charging stations supplied to Mosgortrans State Unitary Enterprise. The total volume of equipment supplied under the contract will exceed 450 units.

The first ten functional units are being commissioned at Mosgortrans’ new Presnya site in Moscow.

As part of the project, NARTIS engineers and specialists from NEC.TECH’s Research and Development Center developed and implemented a new solution for charging electric buses: a reverse pantograph equipped with a NARTIS functional unit. The pantograph enables automatic connection of an electric bus to the charging station. In this configuration, it is installed on the charging infrastructure side, eliminating the need to equip every electric bus with such technology. This helps optimize the costs of outfitting electric public transport fleets.

The functional unit serves as the control system for the ultra-fast charging station. The solution is designed for power outputs ranging from 300 to 400 kW, with the potential to scale up to 600 kW and beyond. It supports modular expansion and is designed to withstand the high loads typical of urban transport infrastructure.

The development of charging infrastructure is one of NARTIS’ strategic priorities. The company manufactures charging stations of various capacities, including solutions for electric buses and other types of electric transport, with a particular focus on equipment localization and the development of proprietary technologies.
For us, this project is important because we were able to offer the customer not simply off-the-shelf equipment, but our own engineering solution tailored to the specific requirements of urban transport infrastructure. We will continue to expand our range of equipment to meet the demands for charging speed, reliability, and efficiency.
