NEC Group’s environmental project brings together nearly 300 participants in four cities

Green Charge
NEC Group has completed the season of its Green Charge environmental project. Fr om August to October, the eco-marathon was held in Cherepovets, Cheboksary, Kovrov and Yekaterinburg. Nearly 300 people took part, collectively collecting more than 3.2 tonnes of waste along the shores of rivers and lakes.
Participants in Green Charge included employees of NEC Group companies, members of the Youth Council, students, volunteers and local residents. In each city, teams took part in an environmental quiz, completed speed and problem-solving challenges, and then joined a clean-up of local shorelines.
The first stage took place in Cherepovets on the banks of the Sheksna River, wh ere 60 participants collected 641 kg of waste. Green Charge then continued in Cheboksary, where 90 participants cleaned the city beach and adjacent Volga River shoreline, collecting 848 kg of waste.
In Kovrov, participants cleaned up the shore of one of the city’s lakes and collected 896.3 kg of waste – the highest result among the four stages held during the season.
The Green Charge finale took place in Yekaterinburg on the shore of Lake Ramada. The event brought together 70 participants – employees and Youth Council members of NEC Group, students from the Yekaterinburg Energy College and volunteers. In 60 minutes, five teams collected 850 kg of waste.
Green Charge was launched by NEC Group in 2025 with a tree-planting campaign across five regions of Russia. In 2026, the project continued as a team-based environmental marathon combining environmental volunteering, an educational program and team competitions. Next year, the Group plans to expand the project’s geographical reach.
