Green Charge
The second stage of the NEC Group’s Green Charge environmental project took place in Cheboksary. Ninety participants representing six teams met on the banks of the Volga to test their knowledge and skills in team challenges and then work together to clean up one of the city’s beaches.
The Green Charge project brought together representatives of the Novocheboksarsk city administration, employees of Unitel Engineering, NEC.High Voltage Solutions, and Moselektroshchit, as well as students from Chuvash State University and the Cheboksary Electromechanical College. The program began with an environmental quiz and sports challenges, with teams earning points for each activity.
The final stage was a cleanup of the beach and the adjacent section of the Volga riverbank. Together, the participants collected 848 kg of waste. Based on the total score across all stages, the Chuvash State University student team took first place, the Cheboksary Electromechanical College student team came second, and the teams from Unitel Engineering, NEC.High Voltage Solutions, and Moselektroshchit shared third place. The Novocheboksarsk city administration team took fourth place.
“For us, it is important that Green Charge remains an open project and that as many people as possible join in. The broader the circle of participants, the more visible the result and the more attention we can draw to responsible attitudes toward the environment,” said Semyon Rabkin, Head of the Marketing and Communications Center at NEC JSC.
“Projects like this bring people together around a simple and meaningful cause. It is important that today our colleagues, students, and city residents all came out to the banks of the Volga together — and each of them contributed to the overall result,” said Alexey Pleshkov, Head of the Unitel Engineering branch in Cheboksary.
