NEC.High‑Voltage solutions division successfully completes tests of hybrid cells for a Ural plant
NEC.High‑Voltage
In late May, at the production site in Yekaterinburg belonging to H Energy (division NEC.High‑Voltage Solutions), acceptance tests of two hybrid cells of the 110 kV class were successfully completed. This equipment is intended for upgrading the power supply scheme of one of the industrial facilities in the Ural region. It is expected that two more similar cells under the same contract will be shipped to the customer in July this year.

The interaction is based on the principles of trust and consistency. The successful implementation of one project naturally leads to expanded cooperation – this aligns with the standard practice of the NEC.High‑Voltage Solutions division, where reliability is proven through action.

Hybrid cells represent a hybrid solution that combines the best features of two technologies: compactness and adaptability. As with GIS (gas‑insulated switchgear), the main devices are housed in a sealed, grounded enclosure with SF₆ gas insulation – this ensures compactness and a small footprint. At the same time, similar to a classic OSI (open‑air switchgear), an open busbar system is used, and the cell itself can operate reliably outdoors. Most importantly, the cells leave the production site fully assembled and having passed all tests – this eliminates the need for additional work at the site and reduces the time between shipment and energisation.

Thus, this project not only helps the industrial enterprise update its energy infrastructure but also once again proves that the NEC.High‑Voltage Solutions division is a reliable partner – one that keeps its promises and builds long‑term cooperation.
