NEC.TECH Conducted Training for Rosatom Energosbyt Employees

NARTIS NEC.TECH
In June, NEС.TECH (part of the NEС Group) conducted training for Rosatom Energosbyt employees on the use of NARTIS intelligent electricity metering systems.

The event took place at Rosatom Energosbyt's premises in Smolensk. Employees from the company's branches in Murmansk, Tver, and Kursk participated.

NEС.TECH specialists, together with representatives from NARTIS, the manufacturer of intelligent metering systems (IMS), presented theoretical material and conducted practical exercises.

The speakers discussed the construction and operation of a secure IMS, shared their experience integrating cryptographic information protection tools (CIPS) into data collection and transmission devices (DCTs), and discussed a typical IMS information security model and regulatory requirements for the use of CIPS. Participants also attended master classes on testing the functionality of automated information and measurement systems for commercial electricity metering (AIMS KUE) and learned about the operation of USPDs equipped with a cryptographic information protection module.

The practical training allowed the participants to explore the functionality of intelligent metering systems and master the possibilities of adapting them to the needs of a power supply company. Participants performed test operations for installing metering devices, taking readings in various modes, and also practiced equipment diagnostics and analyzing possible errors.

According to Denis Koval, Technical Director of NEС TECH LLC, "The NARTIS data collection and information protection system with the ViPNet Client cryptographic information protection software is currently one of the most effective solutions on the market for meeting the mandatory FSB requirements for information security, as outlined in the current Basic Model of ISU Security Threats."

Rosatom Energosbyt noted that a key advantage of the training was the live interaction between the customer's representatives and the equipment developers – NEС TECH and the manufacturers of NARTIS smart electricity metering systems.

The training was a clear example of how the modern energy industry relies on advanced technologies and competent specialists capable of using them.
NARTIS Plant is the only manufacturer of intelligent electricity metering systems to present a serial technical solution at Rosatom Energosbyt facilities using a certified cryptographic information protection tool to protect the data transmission channel between the USPDs and the IVK. Therefore, the main objective of the on-site training was to practically master the technology for launching and operating a system using cryptographic information protection tools
