NEC.TECH
On October 14, NEC.TECH’s Research and Development Center, part of NEC Group, presented its successful experience integrating InfoTeCS ViPNet cryptographic information protection tools into its own products – data acquisition and transmission devices (DADs) and communication gateways – at the InfoTeCS TechnoSreda conference in Moscow.
The event brought together manufacturers of network equipment, developers of software and industrial automation and control systems, as well as experts in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
InfoTeCS experts discussed current information security issues and changes in Russia’s IT and cybersecurity landscape, plans for the development of the ViPNet product range, the latest versions of products for workstation protection, and solutions for securing industrial networks and systems. InfoTeCS partners presented successful cases of integrating secure solutions.
NEC.TECH has been a technology partner of InfoTeCS for several years. Dmitry Okun, the company’s Director of Research and Development, presented successful examples of integrating the ViPNet Client software-based cryptographic information protection tool into data acquisition and transmission devices and the ViPNet SIES Core hardware-based security tool into a communication gateway used in smart electricity metering systems.
Particular attention at the conference was given to ViPNet SIES solutions. These technologies protect data in industrial control systems (ICS), machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and embedded devices.
The use of these technologies helps reduce the risk of unauthorized access to electricity metering data and strengthen the security of information exchange. The development of such solutions also contributes to strengthening Russia’s technological independence in IT and information security.
In total, the InfoTeCS TechnoSreda conference brought together more than 200 information security professionals.

NEC.TECH products are entirely Russian-made solutions. For example, with our communication gateway, we do not simply install cryptographic protection on the device – we embed it into the architecture. This represents a shift from conventional software-based protection to hardware-based security. For critical infrastructure, this means reliable protection of the communication channel all the way from an individual apartment’s electricity meter to the higher-level system.
