NEC TECH
From 30 May to 5 June, professional skills competitions for employees of electricity metering units from PJSC Rosseti Centre and PJSC Rosseti Centre and Privolzhye are being held in Obninsk (Kaluga Region). Dmitry Okun, R&D Director of LLC NEC TECH, is part of the judging panel.

The 8th interregional professional skills tournament has brought together 20 teams from various parts of Russia. At the Olimp sports complex, power engineers will compete for victory over the course of five days.

The competition programme includes both theoretical and practical components. Participants will demonstrate their skills in: detecting electricity theft; inspecting and calibrating electricity meters; analysing data; installing and maintaining equipment. The contest aims to raise the level of professional expertise and encourage knowledge exchange within the industry.

On 5 June, the professional jury will determine the best teams and individual specialists. Such competitions are becoming an important tool for industry development, strengthening professional standards and improving the quality of electricity supply for millions of consumers. It is precisely such platforms that foster a culture of professional excellence and set benchmarks for the future development of the power sector.
Digital transformation in the industry is impossible without highly skilled personnel, and the country’s largest grid company places special emphasis on employee training. Training on NARTIS devices – developed by NEC TECH – helps bring the learning process closer to real‑world working conditions. Professional skills competitions play a crucial role: they do not just reinforce skills, but also identify best practices and teach error‑free operation under real conditions. In real‑life situations, the reliability of grids and the speed of fault recovery directly depend on the qualifications of each specialist at PJSC Rosseti. Professional skills competitions are the best way to turn theory into a benchmark action algorithm – ultimately improving the quality of power supply for millions of consumers.
