NTZMK
Specialists at NTZMK, part of NEC Group’s Metal Structures and Facilities division, have selected an engineering solution to automate the company’s painting production. The modernization will be one of the stages in the development of the enterprise. By 2030, NTZMK plans to increase its output of finished metal structures to 50,000 tonnes per year.
During a business trip, the company’s specialists studied international experience in the use of robotic painting at large industrial facilities and selected a solution for implementation at NTZMK. The plant plans to install two robotic painting systems.
Their estimated capacity will be up to 1,200 tonnes of metal structures per month. Uniform coating application and precise paint consumption control will reduce the use of coating materials by 20–25%. Automation will also ensure consistent protective coating quality.
Integration of the systems will begin in 2027. The system will automatically generate a spray path based on a 3D model of the product and can be quickly reconfigured for different types of metal structures. This will reduce equipment changeover time when switching between products.
Automation will reduce the amount of manual labor involved in coating application, enable employees to be removed fr om areas exposed to hazardous production factors, and reduce the environmental impact of the process.
Equipping the plant with robotic anti-corrosion coating systems is part of a RUB 2 billion investment project. The project includes the construction of a new painting and loading workshop covering 7,200 sq. m. Full commissioning of the facility is scheduled for Q4 2027.

The implementation of robotic anti-corrosion coating systems is an important stage in modernizing our production. Such solutions are particularly effective in areas wh ere products are changed frequently. Robots will perform the most labor-intensive operations, while specialists will focus on managing and monitoring the production process.
