The Nizhny Tagil Metal Structures Plant (part of the NEС Group) participated in the construction of the modern Ostrovsky waste processing complex in the Vyborg District. The Ural company supplied over 4,000 tons of metal structures for the production buildings of this unique facility.
Construction of the complex, implemented by the Nevsky Ecological Operator, is being carried out according to high construction and environmental standards. A full-cycle waste processing, recycling, and composting facility is being built on 70 hectares of land. The complex will receive 600,000 tons of waste per year.
In-depth waste sorting on the plant's premises will allow for the recovery of useful fractions (paper, glass, cardboard, metal) and reduce the amount of non-recyclable waste. The separated organic matter will be sent to a composting site for processing into man-made soil. The remainder will be sent to a specialized site (a solid municipal waste landfill).
Construction of the Ostrovsky plant is underway as part of the federal national project "Environmental Well-Being." Launch is scheduled for spring 2026. The project, with NTZMK's participation, will not only improve the region's environmental situation but also create a thousand new jobs and attract additional investment to the Leningrad Region.
