NTZMK expands its network of “Eco-Towers” to improve air quality in production workshops

NTZMK, part of NEC Group’s Metal Structures and Facilities division, is upgrading its air purification systems in the main production areas. Four new filtration and ventilation units, known as “eco-towers,” have arrived at the plant. Their installation and commissioning are scheduled for completion by the end of October. Once the new equipment is operational, the plant’s network of modern air purification systems will expand from eight to twelve units.

The new closed-loop units will clean contaminated air generated during welding operations using multi-stage filters and return the purified air to the workshop. This approach helps improve air quality in work areas while retaining heat inside the workshops during winter and reducing the plant’s energy consumption.

The effectiveness of the eco-towers has already been confirmed by the results of a special assessment of working conditions at NTZMK. Instrumental measurements showed that the previously installed units had reduced manganese and welding fume concentrations in the air to below the maximum permissible levels. This helps reduce the risk of occupational diseases and improve working conditions for employees.
