NTZMK is participating in the modernization of the Moscow Region's largest energy source
NTZMK
Kashira State District Power Plant
The Ural company is involved in the large-scale reconstruction of the Kashira State District Power Plant (PJSC Inter RAO). NTZMK (part of the NEK Group) supplied over 13,000 tons of metal structures for this ambitious project.
The plant's reconstruction began in September 2021 as part of the presidential thermal power plant modernization program. According to the project, three modern power units will be built at the site: two with a capacity of 450 MW each, scheduled for launch in 2028, and another with a capacity of 480 MW, scheduled for 2030.
After the reconstruction, the Kashira State District Power Plant, built in 1922, will become a modern, reliable, and environmentally friendly energy source. A key feature of the project is that only Russian engineers, designers, and construction workers are working on the plant. All of the new plant's primary power equipment—transformers, generators, and turbines—is domestically produced. The Kashirskaya GRES will be capable of generating approximately 6 billion kWh per year, representing a third of the Moscow Region's electricity output. The region currently ranks second in Russia for electricity consumption.
The renovated plant will ensure reliable power supply to the growing region and new industrial enterprises. It will also create over 500 jobs. More than a thousand specialists are currently employed at the construction site. The Kashirskaya GRES, along with the Shaturskaya and Zagorskaya GRES, as well as CHPP-22 and CHPP-27, will become one of the five largest power plants in the Moscow Region.
