The third stage of the NEC Group’s environmental project “Green Charge” took place in Kovrov. The participants gathered on the shore of one of the city’s lakes to take part in team challenges and jointly clean the area of litter.
The project brought together the youth activists from the Moselektroshchit plant, a team of the plant’s employees, the RTK‑ELECTRO team, students of the Kovrov State Technological Academy named after V. A. Degtyarev, as well as two teams of students from the Kovrov Industrial and Humanitarian College.
The programme started with an eco‑quiz and sports challenges. The teams answered questions on environmental topics, completed tasks, and earned points. The final stage was cleaning the shoreline — working together, the participants collected 896.3 kg of waste.
Following all the challenges, the first place went to the Moselektroshchit team, the second to RTK‑ELECTRO‑M, and the third to the students of the Kovrov State Technological Academy named after V. A. Degtyarev.
“For us, ‘Green Charge’ is an opportunity to bring people together around a worthwhile cause. It is important that students join the employees of our companies, and that the project keeps attracting more participants. This is what social responsibility is about — doing something together that brings real benefit,” said Semyon Rabkin, Head of the Marketing and Communications Centre at AO NEC.
“Moselektroshchit has been operating in Kovrov for many years, and it is important for us to be part of the city’s life. Projects like this give our employees a chance to meet outside the production environment, work as a team, and contribute to a common cause. I am sure we will continue this tradition,” said Igor Borisov, Executive Director of LLC Moselektroshchit.
Kovrov became the third city to host “Green Charge” this year. In total, more than 200 people took part in the three stages of the project. Together, they collected over 2,400 kg of waste, cleaning the banks of rivers and lakes. The next city for the project will be Yekaterinburg.
“Green Charge” was launched by the NEC Group in 2025. Back then, the companies’ employees planted trees in five regions of Russia. This year, the project continued in a new format: environmental volunteering was complemented by team competitions and educational activities.
