Unitel Engineering
Unitel Engineering (part of the NEC Group) has completed equipping the new 220 kV “Talaya” substation in the Magadan Region with an emergency automation system. Commissioning the facility has made it possible for the first time to provide centralised power supply to the Talaya settlement, which previously received electricity from diesel power plants.
As part of the project, Unitel Engineering specialists supplied and commissioned the UPASK PKUS SR24 complex – equipment for emergency automation and transmission of control commands. Such systems are a key element in ensuring the reliability of modern power systems: they enable rapid information exchange between power facilities, allow automatic response to abnormal situations and help prevent the escalation of technological disturbances.
The project included equipment supply, commissioning activities and comprehensive testing. During the verification process, the correct operation of command transmission via the established communication channels was confirmed, as well as the system’s readiness to operate as part of the new substation.
The 220 kV “Talaya” substation is one of the key facilities for developing the power grid infrastructure in the Magadan Region. The new power facility operates in the Far North conditions and ensures a reliable power supply for the residents of Talaya settlement, a sanatorium with unique thermal springs and the region’s largest greenhouse complex.
