Unitel Engineering
Unitel Engineering, part of NEC Group’s Automation and Communications Systems division, has supplied equipment for the reconstruction of the 500 kV Yuzhnaya Substation in Yekaterinburg, one of the key power facilities in the Sverdlovsk Region. The company’s specialists carried out commissioning and acceptance tests. All systems have been put into operation.
The Yuzhnaya Substation has been in operation since 1954 and supplies electricity to industrial enterprises and residential areas in the region. The facility is currently undergoing a comprehensive equipment upgrade, including the modernization of relay protection and automation devices, communications systems, and fire safety systems.
As part of the reconstruction project, Unitel Engineering manufactured and supplied communications and data transmission systems, intercom and public address equipment, voice recording systems, and power supply cabinets. These solutions are essential for prompt communication between personnel and information exchange during substation operations.
The work at the Yuzhnaya Substation is another Unitel Engineering project involving the deployment of the company’s own communications and data transmission systems at major power infrastructure facilities.
