Unitel Engineering supplies equipment for Russia’s largest wind farm
Unitel Engineering
Unitel Engineering, part of the Automation and Communications Systems division of the NEC Group, has completed the supply of equipment for the Novolakskaya Wind Farm in Dagestan. For the project, the company manufactured six cabinets for communication and information security systems, equipped primarily with domestically produced equipment.
The work was completed within a tight timeframe: the entire process, from assembly to delivery of the finished cabinets, took approximately three months. When developing the solutions, the company’s specialists took into account the specific features of the wind farm’s infrastructure and the requirements for equipment operation at such energy facilities.
The Novolakskaya Wind Farm became the first major wind energy project for which Unitel Engineering supplied its own manufactured equipment. The project enabled the company to apply its accumulated engineering and manufacturing expertise in a new segment and adapt its solutions to renewable energy facilities.
“This project demonstrated that our in-house engineering and manufacturing solutions are ready for use at new energy facilities. It was important for us not simply to supply the equipment, but to complete the entire production cycle and adapt our solutions to the specific requirements of a wind power facility. We will now be able to apply the experience gained to new renewable energy projects,” Unitel Engineering says.
The Novolakskaya Wind Farm is located in the Novolaksky District of the Republic of Dagestan. Its installed capacity is 300 MW, making it the largest wind farm in Russia by capacity. The project is one of the key facilities contributing to the development of wind energy in the country.
