Reconstruction of the 110 kV “Gzhel” substation in the Moscow Region is currently underway. The facility provides power supply to the villages of Grigorovo, Kosherovo, Zhirovo, as well as the cottage settlements “Fenino Lesnoye” and “Kontinent”.
As part of the modernisation project, Unitel Engineering has delivered 50 relay protection and automation (RPA) cubicles manufactured in-house. The equipment is designed to prevent emergency situations on power equipment and ensure rapid localisation of faults in the event of abnormal operating conditions.
The use of RPA devices enables prompt disconnection of damaged sections, minimising the risk of failure of expensive equipment and reducing repair or replacement costs.
Modernising the substation with advanced relay protection solutions contributes to increased reliability of power supply for consumers and improved operational efficiency of the region’s power grid infrastructure.
