Unitel Engineering
Unitel Engineering, part of the Automation and Communications Systems division of the NEC Group, will take part in the competitions of SIBUR’s 7th Open Industry Professional Skills Championship, NeftekHimSkills / PetroChemSkills–2026. Pavel Dmitriev, an industrial automation engineer, will compete in the “Digital Substation” category, while Maxim Rastorguev will participate as a compatriot expert.
The competition will take place in Tobolsk from September 14 to 18. Over the course of 10 hours, participants will complete practical modules based on real-world engineering tasks: reviewing a digital substation project, configuring communication between equipment and automation systems, working with relay protection devices, as well as analyzing an emergency event and identifying the causes of a technological failure.
Unitel Engineering is taking part in the “Digital Substation” competition for the second consecutive year. In 2025, the company was among the prize winners, taking second place. This year, the competition task has been expanded, with the main focus placed on comprehensive work with digital systems at an industrial power facility.
Participation in the competition is aligned with one of Unitel Engineering’s key areas of activity. The company develops and implements automation, relay protection, communication, and control solutions for power and industrial facilities.
PetroChemSkills–2026 is being held from September 7 to 25 in Tyumen, Tobolsk, and Nizhnekamsk. More than 250 specialists are participating in competitions across 20 professional skills categories, with the contestants’ performance assessed by around 270 experts from industrial companies and specialized educational institutions.
